The plans concerning Ślusarska Street in Bolesławiec were discussed by starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak during the September meeting of the Bolesławiec County Council.
He explained that the planned reconstruction of Ślusarska Street is closely connected with what is currently happening on the grounds of the Bolesławiec hospital. Work related to the construction of a landing pad is currently underway there.
At the same time, the hospital has prepared a plan for developing part of its plot adjoining Ślusarska Street. New parking lots will be built there. The starosta said:
The hospital has developed a plan to rebuild part of the hospital plot adjoining Ślusarska Street. Ultimately, this will provide new parking lots.
He added:
In connection with what is happening on the hospital grounds along Ślusarska Street, we want to rebuild this county road.
Problems: narrow roadway and parking
As Tomasz Gabrysiak pointed out, one of the main objectives is to improve traffic flow on the street, particularly in the area of the intersection with Podgórna Street.
What is more, according to the county authorities, the road itself is simply very narrow.
The designer is to propose technical solutions that will reconcile several needs: ensuring passage, improving safety, and creating as many parking spaces as possible. The starosta said:
We need to resolve the parking issue there, but we also want the designer to suggest which technical solutions should be adopted so that the road can serve its purpose.
Ślusarska Street: a road with a distinctive surface
The roadway itself stands out because it is made of granite setts. As the head of the Bolesławiec County Board emphasized, it is one of the last roads of its kind in the City of Ceramics.
We will certainly return to this subject.
