Officers from the Criminal Division of the municipal police headquarters in Jelenia Góra arrested a 74-year-old man suspected of possessing significant quantities of narcotic substances.
After receiving information that the man might be transporting narcotic substances in his car, the officers immediately took action and arrested him on Monday in one of the car parks in Jelenia Góra.
During the arrest, the officers found methamphetamine. They discovered further quantities of the drug at the suspect’s home, some of which had been hidden in a mailbox.
In total, the officers seized substances prohibited by law, from which nearly 800 saleable doses could have been produced. Thanks to the effective actions of the criminal investigators, this large quantity of substances was prevented from entering the local market, which will improve safety in the region.
The resident of Jelenia Góra was taken into police custody. Possession of significant quantities of narcotic substances is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
