– At around 11 p.m., police officers from the Gryfów police station, while patrolling Mirsk, noticed a motorcycle travelling with registration plates from Lubań – reports junior aspirant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. – They decided to inspect the vehicle, giving the appropriate signals.

The Yamaha was being ridden by a 34-year-old resident of Lwówek County. The spokeswoman: – During the vehicle check, the officers noticed that the registration plates were assigned to a car trailer. Moreover, it emerged that the motorcycle itself was not registered and did not have third-party liability insurance.

The 34-year-old admitted that she had found the registration plate and fitted it to her motorcycle. She did it all to avoid arousing suspicion.

At the end of last year, new criminal regulations governing the use of registration plates came into force. Using registration plates not assigned to a vehicle is punishable by three months to five years in prison.
