Lubin detectives became interested in a Peugeot Boxer parked on one of the city’s streets. – The vehicle had German registration plates fitted – explains Sylwia Serafin, asp. szt., press officer for the Lubin District Police Headquarters. – It was unlocked.
She adds:
The officers, who deal with combating vehicle crime on a daily basis, decided to look inside. They noticed that the vehicle’s ignition had been broken out and taped over.
Suspecting that the van might have been stolen, the officers checked it in the police database. It turned out that the vehicle had been stolen from Jelenia Góra County at the beginning of August.
The spokesperson concludes: – The detectives quickly identified the owner of the vehicle. She adds: – The van was returned to its rightful owner. The man made no secret of his great appreciation for the officers and thanked them profusely for recovering his vehicle, which he valued at PLN 42,000.
