Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec, while carrying out activities related to a report of a break-in, noticed a man who, upon seeing the uniformed officers, tried hurriedly to open the door to a multi-family building.

– When the officers became interested in his behaviour, he said that he would come over shortly, but first needed to put down his backpack – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – This information was crucial, because the officers immediately became alert to the possibility that the man might have illegal items on him. The officers’ immediate reaction prevented the suspect from closing the door to the stairwell.

Spokeswoman: – A search of the backpack belonging to a resident of Nowogrodziec municipality led to the seizure of a considerable quantity of drugs. A plastic box covered with blue tape contained more than 2,500 saleable doses of marijuana. In the backpack’s second pocket, the police patrol found two syringes filled with liquid. A drug test confirmed that it was a narcotic substance in the form of methamphetamine.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the prosecutor’s office in Bolesławiec, where he was charged with possessing a significant quantity of narcotic substances, for which he faces a sentence of between one and 10 years in prison. The prosecutor placed the 30-year-old under police supervision and banned him from leaving the country.
