The incident occurred on July 7, at around 1:00 a.m. – Officers from the Patrol and Intervention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica went to Jaworzyńska Street, where a road incident had occurred – reports Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert, press officer of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters.

She adds: – It quickly became clear at the scene that the perpetrator was a 37-year-old man who had hit a streetlamp pole.

The officers detected a strong smell of alcohol on the driver. A test showed that the Colombian citizen had nearly 2‰ of alcohol in his exhaled air.

We appeal to drivers to use common sense! A drunk driver on the road is a potential killer. Let us react when an intoxicated person attempts to get into a car and drive away. If we witness this crime and are afraid to intervene, it is enough to call the emergency number 112. Let us all be responsible for road safety.
