On July 4, from the morning hours, Polish and American soldiers played a joint soccer and basketball match and competed in a 4x400-meter relay and tug-of-war.
During the inauguration of the joint event, the commander of the American battalion, Ltc. George T. Gordon, and the commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Col. Krzysztof Malankiewicz, emphasized the importance of independence in the history of both countries, as well as the good cooperation between Polish and American soldiers.
In addition to cooperation in training, holding joint sporting competitions with American soldiers provides an opportunity to get to know one another better and strengthen ties with allies.
