As in previous years, every day throughout the holiday period, the policja.pl website, social media and websites administered by Police units present a map of Poland showing the number of fatal road accidents, together with information about the incidents (i.e. the location, general information on the number of victims, the type of road user and the type of incident) from the past 24 hours and since the start of the holidays.
The map is updated continuously, including its visual presentation, to draw attention to the scale of the tragedies occurring on Polish roads, encourage road users to reflect, and prompt the media to discuss road safety.
Since the start of the holidays, 49 fatal accidents have occurred on roads throughout Poland, including 7 such accidents in the past 24 hours.
In Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, 2 fatal accidents have occurred since the start of the holidays, including one in Bolesławiec County.
It should be remembered that behind every point marked on this map lies a human tragedy. Any act of ignoring the regulations, even one that may seem trivial, as well as recklessness or disregarding drowsiness or fatigue, can cause a tragedy on the road.
Once again, Screen Network S.A. has joined the promotion of road safety initiatives. On more than 20,000 screens located in 553 cities, including at major transport routes, railway stations, fuel stations and shopping centres, the company will display a map with current data.
