On Sunday morning, residents of Lubań’s Księginki district found a man’s body lying beneath an overhead power line pole.
Everything indicates that the approximately 30-year-old man was fatally electrocuted. It also appears that the deceased was trying to steal the overhead power line.
The Lubań outlet reports:
The man first cut the cables near the ground with a hacksaw, then climbed the pole to do the same to the overhead line. When he approached the live wires, he was electrocuted and fell to the ground. Only his backpack remained on the pole.
Paramedics confirmed the man’s death; deep burns were visible on his body. The police and prosecutor’s office are investigating the case.
