The photo above was taken by a reader on Tuesday, June 11, in Wschowa (Lubusz Voivodeship). As you can see, there are stations where fuel can already be bought for less than PLN 6 per litre. In Bolesławiec, however, prices are traditionally several dozen groszy higher.

This situation has been ongoing in Bolesławiec for years, and the largest fuel producer, PKN Orlen considers it a normal phenomenon occurring throughout the country.

PKN Orlen to istotne.pl:

(...) differences in fuel prices at stations in different locations are a normal phenomenon and occur throughout the country. These prices are shaped by many factors that may vary depending on the location. These include, among other things, the cost of acquiring or using the land on which the station is located, the costs of operating and maintaining the station, as well as sales potential and the market environment.

So everything indicates that in Bolesławiec we have paid, are paying and will continue to pay more.

Unless, that is, the city authorities follow the example of Chełm, where there was a situation analogous to that in Bolesławiec and where the local authorities decided to open a municipal filling station.
