At the site of the former filling station at 49 al. Tysiąclecia in Bolesławiec, a construction crew is already visible. Work has begun that is intended to lead to the opening of an unmanned Petroprix filling station.
We have already written about plans concerning this location. The station is to be part of the shopping park Quick Bolesławiec being developed on the site of the former Tesco.
Petroprix instead of Tesco
The new station will operate exactly where the Tesco station functioned for years. This time, however, drivers are to be offered a completely different fuel-sales model.
Petroprix is a Spanish network of automatic, self-service filling stations that is expanding its operations in Poland. Its business model is based on reducing service costs and automating sales, which is intended to make it possible to offer fuel at competitive prices.
There is a chance for cheaper refuelling
It is not yet known exactly what prices Petroprix will offer once the station in Bolesławiec opens. Fuel prices change dynamically, but there is a chance that prices will be competitive and therefore considerably lower than at other stations.
If the network maintains its current pricing policy, however, Petroprix's arrival could be good news for drivers. The difference compared with prices at some branded stations in Bolesławiec could be as much as 40–50 groszy per litre, although the final prices will only be known once the station opens.
When filling up with 50 litres, this would mean a difference of as much as PLN 20–25 per refuelling.
