The police “Speed” operation is under way on the roads of our voivodeship. – The activities conducted by police officers are, among other things, “cascade” operations. This means that the location of speed checks is frequently changed, depending on the hazards present and the intensity of traffic violations committed by drivers in a given area – explains asp. szt. Łukasz Dutkowiak, press spokesman for the Wrocław KWP.
And he stresses: – The operation is intended not only to identify offenders, but also to condemn their negative behaviour on the roads. It should be remembered that inadequate preparation for a journey, recklessness, and failure to adjust speed to the prevailing weather conditions and applicable regulations repeatedly lead to incidents with very serious consequences.
He adds: – During this type of operation, officers carry out their duties in a way that instils in drivers the conviction that driving at excessive speed is dangerous, and that punishment for creating a threat to the safety of other road users is inevitable.
The last operation of this kind ended with police officers checking nearly one thousand drivers travelling in various types of vehicles. Unfortunately, many of them were driving far too fast, and the journeys ended with fines being issued. Police officers:
