After the driver of a passenger car failed to stop for a check, officers set off in pursuit.
The chase ended in Karłowiec, in the municipality of Mirsk. The Lwówek-based outlet reported: – The driver turned onto a field road, where they lost control of the vehicle. The car left the road and fell into a ditch, after which it caught fire.
Firefighters from Mirsk were dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, only the wreckage of the car remained.
The police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident. The driver, who managed to escape, faces up to five years in prison.
