On 21 May, a ceremony welcoming the soldiers of the 26th rotation of the EUFOR ALTHEA contingent was held at Wrocław Airport. They returned to the country after completing their six-month mission.
“I report the completion of the mandated tasks by the XXVI rotation of the EUFOR ALTHEA contingent in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the contingent commander, Lt. Col. Dominik Kasperek, reporting to the commander of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, Col. Krzysztof Malankiewicz, the return of his subordinates to their homeland. The regiment said: “They all returned safely, enriched by new experience in international cooperation aimed at ensuring the security of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

During the ceremony, attended by the Wrocław Military Orchestra and the honour guard of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, representatives of the Commander of the Operational Branches of the Armed Forces and the Commander General of the Branches of the Armed Forces also signed protocols transferring the soldiers of the contingent between their respective commands.

After the ceremony and completion of the formal procedures related to their return, the soldiers of the XXVI EUFOR rotation returned to their family homes.
