Bolesławiec officers from the Patrol and Intervention Unit stopped a vehicle for inspection on one of the streets in the city centre. It was being driven by a young man. – The 24-year-old presented a document that was supposed to confirm that he was authorised to drive – reports junior warrant officer Paweł Noga from the Press Section of the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.
He adds: – The officers immediately noticed the document and questioned its authenticity. The driving licence, which came from another country, had no security features.
He further explains: – Verification, including with the use of ultraviolet light, confirmed the officers’ suspicions. The driving licence used by the 24-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was fake.
The suspect confirmed that he was not authorised to drive and that he had bought the document online. The man was charged with using a forged document, for which he faces up to 5 years in prison.
