Update
Legnica Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service on the fire:
This morning at 6:38 a.m., we received a report of a fire in a hall at a production and warehouse facility located in Piotrowice, Chojnów Municipality. Initially, three units from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Chojnów, the Jaroszówka Volunteer Fire Department and the Krzywa Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the incident.
And added: – Upon arrival, firefighters found the facility fully engulfed in flames, and its corrugated-sheet roof had collapsed into the interior. An additional difficulty was the large amount of wood accumulated in the immediate vicinity of the fire, which caught fire due to the high temperature. Seeing the intensity of the fire and the large amount of accumulated combustible material, the Incident Commander ordered additional forces and equipment to be dispatched, including Volunteer Fire Department units, a tanker with a capacity of 25,000 litres of water from the SCCs of the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service and a specialist vehicle equipped with compressors for filling the pressure cylinders of respiratory protection equipment from the Złotoryja County Headquarters of the State Fire Service.

As a result of intensive firefighting operations, the fire was quickly brought under control and did not spread in any direction. Extinguishing the remaining flames required the removal of accumulated combustible material and roof structure elements that prevented firefighters from reaching all sources of fire. The owner was present at the scene and assisted the firefighters by providing the available heavy equipment. To improve the flow of information and optimise the use of forces and equipment at the scene, the Command Staff of the Municipal Commander of the State Fire Service in Legnica was established. The fire has now been extinguished, and the units are returning to their stations. A total of 81 State and Volunteer Fire Service firefighters battled the fire.
On Friday morning, emergency services were dispatched to Piotrowice near Chojnów, where a massive fire broke out at a sawmill hall. Firefighters from Bolesławiec are also taking part in the operation. (A water tanker from our team was sent to the scene.)
It is not yet known whether anyone was injured. The police will determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
