– A few days ago, new comments appeared on one of the social media profiles beneath an archival photograph of one of our police officers. The posts violated his dignity, tarnished his authority and were intended to insult the police officer. Unfortunately, one of them also called for our officer to be deprived of his life – says acting inspector Przemysław Rybikowski, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice.
He adds:
After establishing the facts and gathering the evidence necessary for the case, officers from Polkowice confirmed who was behind the publication and sitting at the keyboard when the aforementioned comments became public. The 39-year-old from Głogów County was arrested and charged with making criminal threats, insulting a police officer and inciting the commission of a crime.
The spokesperson: – At this stage of the proceedings, the resident of Głogów County has admitted to the acts of which he is accused. The officers also established what may have caused the suspect to behave in this particular way. The insulted police officer had come into contact with the arrested man in the past. Several years ago, he arrested the 39-year-old for riding a two-wheeled vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
The man who issued the insults faces up to three years in prison.
