Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn detained a 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County suspected of breaking into heavy goods vehicles.
Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters: – The perpetrator is well known to the local Police, as he had previously been detained in connection with numerous thefts involving break-ins of TIR trucks, vehicle appropriation and drug possession.
During the latest detention, police officers proved that he had broken into three trailers and that the 36-year-old had stolen food products and cables.
What is more, during his detention the man violated the bodily integrity of and insulted the officers intervening.
Police: – Items originating from crimes, including a drill, sweets and fuel, were secured in the car and garage used by the perpetrator.
It added: – Because the same man had been detained several days earlier in connection with numerous thefts of valuable property, including drones and car rims, a significant part of which was also recovered as a result of the operational work of Bolesławiec police officers, the prosecutor requested temporary detention. The Bolesławiec court granted the request, and the 36-year-old was remanded in custody for three months.
The suspect was charged with a total of 19 offences; he had previously served a prison sentence for similar crimes. Therefore, he now faces a higher sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
