The incident took place on Tuesday, February 6, in Wschowa, Lubuskie, where police officers attempted to arrest Jacek B. on the orders of the Wrocław branch of the National Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation, conducted by the prosecutor’s office, concerns crimes committed in Lower Silesia at the turn of the 1990s and 2000s. When police officers attempted to enter Jacek B.’s apartment, a shot was fired inside, as a result of which the gangster died despite an immediate attempt to provide assistance.
Also that morning, at least one more person associated with “Lelek” was arrested: Marian M., known as “Maniek”. The National Prosecutor’s Office and CBŚP have been investigating unsolved crimes connected with gang wars along the border since the 1990s. In the summer of 2023, the body of a man connected with the case was discovered near Jędrzychowice, leading to murder charges being brought against two well-known gangsters, “Jakubek” and “Azja”.
