Zgorzelec police on the incident:
This morning, after 4:00 a.m., the duty officer at the Police Station in Bogatynia was notified of a traffic incident that occurred at the 26th kilometre of voivodeship road no. 352. Emergency services and police officers from the Bogatynia station and the Traffic Division of the Zgorzelec unit were immediately dispatched to the scene. According to the initial findings made under the supervision of the prosecutor, with the participation of an expert in the reconstruction of road accidents, the 24-year-old driver of an Audi, for reasons not yet established, moved into the opposite lane and collided with a Volvo truck. Unfortunately, as a result of the injuries sustained,the driver of the passenger car died at the scene.

We appeal to drivers to exercise common sense and behave responsibly on the road. We must be aware of the dangers to which we are exposed on the roads. Let us observe speed limits, adjust our driving to the road conditions and under no circumstances get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol. Let us remember that we are not alone on the road, and sometimes a moment of inattention is enough to expose ourselves and others to the loss of life or health.
The incident took place on 5 February, at approximately 4:20 a.m., at the 26th kilometre of DW 352, near the Turów Power Plant. As reported by eluban.pl, two vehicles collided there: an Audi A6 and a Volvo truck:
The driver of the passenger car died at the scene as a result of the collision.
According to the Zgorzelec police, the road has already been reopened.
Investigators are establishing the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
