The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Lwówek Śląski. The driver of a Honda lost control of the vehicle on Złotoryjska Street and drove into a barn. Police were called to the scene.
As reported by lwowecki.info:
Initial findings indicate that officers found a 48-year-old resident of Legnica County at the scene. The man did not suffer any serious injuries in the incident. After checking his identity, it turned out that he was subject to an active driving ban. At that point, the man stated that he had been travelling in the car, but as a passenger.
Police are determining who was driving the vehicle in question. But that was not the end of the matter. The Lwówek outlet reports:
To avoid having the car towed to the police parking lot, the man quickly arranged a “replacement driver.” He called a friend, who soon arrived to collect the car. Unfortunately, a check of police databases revealed that the 38-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was also subject to an active driving ban.
Our fellow county resident, who wanted to help his acquaintance, could now face up to two years in prison.
