The incident occurred during the night of January 3–4, after 1:00 a.m., in the Gmina Gryfów Śląski. As lwowecki.info reports:

(...) in Rząsiny, officers from the Gryfów Śląski Police Station noticed a BMW, which they decided to stop for inspection. However, the driver had no intention of complying with the officers’ orders.

– Despite the visual and audible signals given, the driver did not stop and accelerated, beginning an escape – Staff Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski, explained to the Lwówecki outlet.

The car left the road and hit a tree. A female passenger with broken limbs was taken to hospital. The driver, a 38-year-old from Legnica, was drunk; a test showed nearly 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled breath.

It turned out that the man also had his driving privileges revoked. Moreover, blood was taken from him for testing to determine whether he had also been driving under the influence of drugs.

The extremely irresponsible man from Legnica was placed in a police cell. The case will be decided in court.
