The Investigative Division of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zielona Góra, based on materials collected by officers from the Drug Crime Team of the Lwówek Śląski County Police Headquarters, has opened an investigation into the activities in Lubusz Voivodeship of an organized criminal group involved in drug-related crime.

Excellent cooperation between Lwówek Śląski police officers and the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zielona Góra resulted in the detention of people who were charged, among other things, with producing significant quantities of narcotic drugs and participating in an organized criminal group involved in purchasing more than 20 kilograms in total of marijuana, amphetamine and hashish in the Netherlands, and then introducing them into circulation in Lubusz Voivodeship.
She adds:
As a result of the painstaking and meticulous work of Lwówek Śląski police officers and prosecutors, the first suspects were detained at the beginning of May this year. Officers detained 20 people in total in the case, all residents of Lubusz Voivodeship, and charged them.
She further explains:
In addition, during searches of places where they stayed, officers seized, among other things, more than 5 kilograms of marijuana, more than 600 grams of amphetamine, and significant quantities of methamphetamine, hashish, ecstasy tablets and cocaine. They also seized 28 rounds of illegal ammunition from one of the men. During the operation, Lwówek Śląski police officers discovered and dismantled 7 cultivation sites for cannabis other than fiber hemp, where a total of 1,796 plants at various stages of growth were seized.
The officers’ commitment, intensive investigative work and evidence gathered in the investigation made it possible to charge the detainees with participating in an organized criminal group, possessing significant quantities of drugs, producing, supplying and distributing them, as well as cultivating cannabis capable of yielding significant quantities of drugs. Two men were also charged with possessing illegal ammunition.
The suspects were placed in pre-trial detention, put under police supervision or required to provide bail.
