– On one of the trains, a persistent man sat next to a woman travelling from Chojnów to Legnica and constantly tried to court the passenger. Frightened, she informed her boyfriend and asked him to meet her at the station – reports junior warrant officer Anna Tersa of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters. – When the train stopped in Legnica, the woman got off at the platform, followed by her admirer. As agreed, her boyfriend and his father came to the station to meet her. The persistent admirer would not give up and followed them.
A moment later, an argument broke out, during which the persistent man pulled out a knife and attacked both men. The spokesperson said:
The boyfriend suffered a chest wound, while his father sustained a cut to his elbow. After the incident, the attacker fled, and the men went to hospital.
The police were notified about the incident. Junior warrant officer A. Tersa said:
It was not easy for the officers to identify the perpetrator, as the victims did not know him. In the course of their work, officers from the Legnica command’s Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health determined that the perpetrator was a 48-year-old resident of Legnica. The man was arrested yesterday and placed in police custody.
She added: – The officers found on him the knife he had used to commit the crime. The weapon was secured by the police.
The man has already been charged. The prosecutor placed the suspect under police supervision. The 48-year-old now faces up to two years in prison.
