Zgorzelec traffic officers tried to stop the driver of a Volkswagen for a roadside check on one of the streets in the town. – However, despite the light and sound signals ordering him to stop, he began to flee – reports Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
She adds: – He drove into a park, but the path was impassable. The driver abandoned the vehicle and continued fleeing on foot.
The officers recognized the man; he was an 18-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County known to the police from previous official proceedings. (The teenager has two court-imposed bans on driving vehicles).
Detectives arrested the suspect the following day. The young man was charged with failing to stop for a roadside check and driving a vehicle despite court-imposed bans.
