The incident occurred on September 19, at around 6:00 p.m. – Officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic police went to the area of the Stara Kamienica municipality, where, according to the report, a road incident had occurred – says Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.
She adds: – As officers determined, the 27-year-old driver of a Peugeot, traveling from Szklarska Poręba, most likely lost control of the vehicle because she failed to adjust her speed to the road conditions, went off the road and hit a tree. During the conversation, the police noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from her. The test showed nearly 0.8 per mille.
The 27-year-old was taken into police custody. The spokeswoman says:
She will now appear before the court for the offense committed and could face up to two years in prison, a substantial fine and a driving ban lasting several years.
She adds:
Let us remember that getting behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or a similarly acting substance poses a serious threat not only to ourselves but also to other road users. Safety—our own and that of others—depends on our responsibility.
