29 August – during a ceremonial assembly held on the occasion of presenting weapons to cadets of voluntary basic military service – Col. Krzysztof Malankiewicz, commander of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, personally welcomed the newly arrived soldiers and presented them with weapons that they will not part with until completing the first stage of their training.
As Bolesławiec service members reported on Monday, the cadets face 28 days of intensive basic training, which will conclude with a ceremonial military oath.
They added: – The newly appointed soldiers will then continue their specialist training in selected military units. We wish you success and perseverance.
