A couple from Karkonoski County, driving on the A4 motorway, stopped on the emergency lane because they had run out of fuel. Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters: – A Lithuanian citizen stopped to help them. He drove them to a petrol station so they could fill a canister with petrol. On the way back, the perpetrators told the victim to drive to the area where the suspect was temporarily staying. There, they took the driver's keys and drove away in a vehicle worth PLN 50,000.

Although the foreigner was unfamiliar with the area, the criminal investigators' operational work led to the circumstances being established, and the pair of thieves being identified and arrested.
The 23-year-old woman and 38-year-old man were charged. The prosecutor placed them under police supervision and banned them from leaving the country. Moreover, the detained 38-year-old is prohibited from approaching or contacting the victim.
Efforts are underway to recover the Lithuanian's car, which the thieves have already managed to sell. Both suspects face up to five years in prison.
