– A dangerous situation occurred on provincial road no. 297 in Mojesz. A 23-year-old Audi driver, overtaking three cars at once, nearly collided with an oncoming passenger car whose dashcam recorded the incident – reports Staff Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.
What is more, the situation occurred on a bend in the road where a double solid line is marked. The footage was sent to the Lwówek police. The spokeswoman said: – A police officer dealing with offences at the Lwówek station established that the incident took place in October last year on provincial road no. 297, in Mojesz, and also identified a potential perpetrator.
She added: – During the proceedings concerning the offence, the officer established that it had probably been committed by a 23-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. The case was referred to the District Court in Lwówek Śląski, where the man was sentenced to a fine of PLN 1,000. Once the judgment became final, penalty points were also added to his record.

We appeal to drivers who, despite numerous road-safety campaigns, engage in such dangerous behaviour to use common sense. Overtaking in such places may lead to a collision or accident involving another vehicle.
