– At one point, Wrocław traffic police officers, while on duty as part of the SPEED group, noticed a man riding an electric scooter along the road at a considerable speed – reports junior constable Rafał Jarząb from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The man also failed to comply with the obligation to use the pavement designated along the street.

The spokesperson adds:

The officers measured the speed of the rapidly moving rider, and the display of the device installed in their unmarked police car showed the result – 54 km/h! Article 20(6)(4) of the Road Traffic Act states that the permissible speed for, among other things, an electric scooter is 20 km/h.

The man told the officers that he was in a hurry because he had to pick up his child from preschool.

Junior constable R. Jarząb:

The police concluded the intervention through ticket proceedings, imposing a fine of PLN 800 for exceeding the speed limit by 34 km/h and PLN 100 for failing to comply with the obligation to ride, in this case, on the pavement.
