Police officers from the station in Nowogrodziec established, as a result of a series of investigative actions, that a resident of Lwówek County had stolen a backhoe loader belonging to a local company involved, among other things, in the maintenance of water infrastructure.

Under cover of night, the 37-year-old entered the company premises and stole a construction machine worth more than PLN 100,000. Wanting to leave the fenced-off area, the perpetrator rammed through the gate and drove toward the neighboring county.

When the suspect reached an unpaved road, he dug ditches at intervals to make it more difficult to reach the place where he had hidden the loot. Officers from Bolesławiec: – A resident of Lubań County who noticed the machine notified the police.

They add:

The cooperation between officers from Nowogrodziec and Lubań resulted in the property lost as a result of the crime being secured and returned to its owner.

The 37-year-old thief, a resident of Lwówek County, was charged with two offenses: stealing a machine worth PLN 105,000 and damaging the gate. (The losses in the latter case were estimated at PLN 10,000).

The suspect now faces up to five years in prison.
