– Police officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica are investigating the exact causes and circumstances of a road accident that occurred on Tuesday, at around 2 p.m., on Piłsudskiego Avenue in Legnica – reports Police Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert, press officer of the local unit.
And she explains:
Legnica traffic police officers working at the scene determined that the driver of a Fiat Tipo, when exiting Karkonoska Street onto Piłsudskiego Avenue, failed to yield the right of way to the rider of an electric scooter, who was travelling contrary to the direction of traffic applicable on that section of road (he was driving against traffic).
The 44-year-old two-wheeler rider sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
The spokesperson appeals:
Remember that right-hand traffic applies in Poland, and you should usually use the cycle path located on the right-hand side of the road. Sometimes a cycle path is bidirectional, but this should be determined by the appropriate signage.
