Bolesławiec criminal investigators identified and arrested two women suspected of stealing money in various currencies, a phone, documents and a payment card. KPP: – The crime took place last weekend at a nightclub. The women were having fun at the club and then left the premises with someone else’s vest.
And adds: – When they checked the pockets, they divided the cash, which was in various currencies. One of the women also took the payment card. The suspects claim that they threw away the remaining items.
The information gathered by the police allowed them to identify people who might have been connected with the theft. Officers:
The first to be arrested was a 28-year-old woman. At her place of residence, police secured some of the money originating from the crime. In addition, criminal investigators recovered the victim’s payment card, which the woman had tried to use to pay in a shop. She was unsuccessful, however, because the card had previously been blocked.
The criminal investigators then arrested a 50-year-old woman, the aunt and accomplice of the 28-year-old. After searching the older woman’s place of residence, officers recovered more money. The officers explain: – The suspects had already partially exchanged euros for złoty, spent some of the money on everyday needs and paid off their debts.
The police recovered nearly PLN 14,000 in total.
Both arrested women are residents of Bolesławiec. The older suspect now faces a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison. The younger woman could face up to ten years behind bars for attempting to use someone else’s card.
