Officers from the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters detained three teenagers suspected in the robbery of a city resident and recovered the stolen phone.

The masked perpetrators, posing as a courier, entered the victim’s apartment and used violence against him, rendering him defenceless. They then stole a mobile phone worth 700 zlotys and an identity card. As a result of being punched and kicked, the victim suffered general bruising.

Operational findings by Bolesławiec police officers led first to the identification of one perpetrator. The 16-year-old resident of Bolesławiec commune was detained at his place of residence. During a search of the room used by the teenager, officers secured property originating from the crime. The boy had already installed messaging apps on the stolen phone and was using it. The 16-year-old was taken to the Police Juvenile Chamber, and the family court subsequently decided to apply a custodial correctional measure for a period of three months.

At a later stage, the two other attackers were detained. They are 17-year-old residents of Bolesławiec. All of them acted jointly and in agreement.

Based on the evidence collected by police officers and at the prosecutor’s request, the court decided to remand the two 17-year-olds in temporary custody for three months. Robbery is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.

The family court will decide the future of the minor, who is currently staying at a youth educational centre.
