The incident occurred on April 22 in the evening in Gryfów Śląski, in Lwówek County. The driver of a Volkswagen Passat lost control of the car, left the road and crashed into a tree.

Witnesses to the incident, who happened to be on the sidewalk, immediately notified the police.
However, the driver did not intend to wait for the patrol and left the scene before the police arrived. The officers nevertheless established his identity.
The 32-year-old resident of Lwówek County was detained. At that moment, he had more than 0.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. The man admitted to driving the aforementioned Volkswagen.
Moreover, it came to light that the 32-year-old had violated a driving ban by getting behind the wheel. The irresponsible man now faces up to five years in prison.
