Officers from the Criminal Division of the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja arrested a 42-year-old resident of the Masovian Voivodeship who was wanted on a warrant issued by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Mińsk Mazowiecki. The reason? The local court had ordered the 42-year-old’s temporary detention. The suspect was also to be taken to the nearest remand center.
– The man is suspected of abducting a person under 15 years of age. He had been hiding from law enforcement agencies for an extended period – explains junior asp. Tomasz Nowak from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – Several days ago, he was arrested in Złotoryja, and the missing child was with him. The 42-year-old was temporarily detained, while the child was placed in the mother’s care.
The spokesperson adds:
Further proceedings in the case will be conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Mińsk Mazowiecki. Abducting or unlawfully depriving a person under 15 years of age of their liberty is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
