Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received information about a citizen’s arrest of a minibus driver. Bolesławiec officers:

The informants reacted after seeing that the vehicle travelling ahead of them—without any external cause—was repeatedly drifting first to the right and then to the left side of the lane. When the minibus turned into a petrol station, the residents of Bolesławiec County did the same, suspecting that the driver was drunk. As soon as the opportunity arose, they took his keys and called a patrol to the scene.

The man had more than 2 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system. Once he had sobered up, the foreign national was brought before the District Court in Bolesławiec under expedited proceedings.

Police:

We remind you that getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited. Driving while intoxicated is a crime punishable by up to 2 years’ imprisonment, loss of one’s driving licence and financial consequences.

And adds:

We congratulate the residents of Bolesławiec County on their exemplary attitude and decisive action.
