The duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja received a report concerning the theft of property from one of the stores selling cosmetics in the town. – The report stated that a tall, slim woman had entered the store. When employees noticed that the customer was taking products from the shelves and then hiding them in her handbag, they immediately informed the police and at the same time prevented the woman from leaving the store – says junior aspirant Dominika Kwakszys, press officer for the Złotoryja police.
As it turned out, the perpetrator was not a woman but a 45-year-old resident of Polkowice County. The spokeswoman says: – In order not to be recognized, he decided on an unusual disguise. He put on a long-haired wig, wore a dress and applied careful makeup.
The officers determined that the 45-year-old had robbed the same store twice over the course of several days. His haul consisted of cosmetics and erotic gadgets worth nearly PLN 1,500. Some of the property was recovered, and the suspect was taken into police custody.
The resourceful thief now faces a sentence of up to five years in prison.
