Yesterday, officers from the Bolesławiec road police unit arrested three people suspected of a road crime. Each of the men got behind the wheel while intoxicated:
- On Sunday morning, a police patrol inspected a vehicle driven by a 70-year-old man from the Nowogrodziec municipality. A sobriety test showed more than 0.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.
- Another 70-year-old man was arrested several hours later in the Osiecznica municipality. With 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system, the man was driving a vehicle that was not technically roadworthy. The officers confiscated his driving licence and registration certificate.
- The third intervention took place on the motorway. The officers stopped a vehicle whose driver, a 32-year-old foreign national temporarily residing in Bolesławiec County, was reversing in the entry lane to the A4. The foreign national had 1 per mille of alcohol in his system. In this case too, the officers confiscated his driving licence and the vehicle’s registration certificate because it did not have a valid technical inspection.
Police:
Driving while intoxicated carries a penalty of up to two years in prison, a long-term loss of one’s driving licence and financial consequences.
