Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime:
In recent days, we have observed further attempts to impersonate the Police. Many people are being sent an email allegedly originating from the Police, whose content informs us of an existing high level of terrorist threat in Poland.
Officers:
We inform you that the Police are not the authors of these messages. (...) the name of the email address from which these messages are sent is: “kryminalny@p0licja.com”. We draw attention to the deliberate use of the digit 0 in the name Police. Although some of the information contained in the email is accurate, its purpose may be to cause concern or fear.
And they add: – We inform you that police officers do not communicate with citizens in this way! Please remain vigilant and exercise caution.
They also add: – Please forward all suspicious messages to CERT Polska using the form: Report an incident.
