During Wednesday’s session of the Bolesławiec City Council, Mayor Piotr Roman mentioned that there had recently been several acts of vandalism in the City of Ceramics. Among the targets of the vandals were lamps powered by photovoltaic panels at the pedestrian crossing on Kościuszki Street. Repairing the damaged devices will cost PLN 40,000. The speed meter suffered the same fate.

– There is no simple solution here – the head of the municipal administration stated. He added: – There are still people who do not respect public property.

We would add that acts of vandalism of this kind may carry a sentence ranging from three months to as many as five years in prison.
