– The detained men, aged 33 and 38, are residents of Zgorzelec and Bolesławiec counties. They came together to Złotoryja to go shopping. At the shopping arcade, they entered various stores – reports junior aspirant Dominika Kwakszys, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja. – They watched the store staff and, after some time, left the stores with items they had not paid for.
The thieves were arrested by Złotoryja detectives, caught red-handed. The spokeswoman:
In the car in which the men arrived, police secured, among other things, wireless headphones, chargers, watches, tablet styluses, power banks and sweets. All the stolen property was recovered and secured as evidence. The losses were estimated at a total of more than PLN 1,500.
Both suspects were taken into police custody. On the basis of the collected evidence, the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja filed a motion with the Złotoryja court for the case to be heard in expedited proceedings. The court granted the motion, issuing a conviction sentencing the 33-year-old from Bolesławiec County to three months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
Because the 38-year-old committed these offenses while a repeat offender, the court sentenced him to six months’ unconditional imprisonment. The verdict is not yet final.
