The incident occurred during the night of January 15–16. – At 11:30 p.m., the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica received information about an intoxicated driver who had been apprehended by another driver. Legnica traffic police were immediately dispatched to the 101st kilometer of the A4 motorway (near Koskowice) – reports Inspector Jagoda Ekiert, press officer for the Legnica police.
The Audi driver had difficulty maintaining a straight line. Spokesperson:
This uncertain behavior on the road raised another driver’s suspicions. When the car pulled onto the emergency lane, the reporting driver approached it and took the vehicle’s keys.
It turned out to be the right decision. The 68-year-old Audi driver was completely drunk; a test showed more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. The man was arrested and taken to a police cell, while the car was removed by a roadside assistance service.

The court will now decide the fate of the irresponsible driver. Thanks to the driver’s courage and exemplary civic conduct, another intoxicated driver has been taken off the road. Driving a vehicle while intoxicated may carry a sentence of up to two years in prison, a substantial fine and a driving ban.
