Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn detained a man suspected of hacking into a bank account and stealing money. Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:
The 31-year-old was supposed to help a family member with online banking. The man first used his knowledge of the person’s details and misled a bank employee, taking out a loan using someone else’s data.
The suspect transferred the PLN 3,000 obtained in this way to his own account.
That was not the end of it. Using the senior’s details, the 31-year-old, whose relative lives in Bolesławiec County, hacked into the relative’s account seven times and transferred nearly PLN 4,000 to himself.
The suspect explained to police officers that he was in a difficult financial situation. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
