As paramedics from Bolesławiec report on their social media:
We would like to share some extremely heartwarming news, made possible by the Wspierajmy Zdrowie Foundation located at our hospital.
Yesterday (November 29 – ed. note: istotne.pl), we were dispatched to a patient in a life-threatening condition. As it turned out at the scene, the Emergency Medical Team had been called by eight-year-old Leon. Leon knew that he needed to take the following steps:
- call the emergency number 999
- provide the dispatcher with the necessary information
- put the dog away
- prepare the medical documentation
- open the door
- and remained in telephone contact with the dispatcher until the Emergency Medical Team arrived.
They added:
It turned out that Leon had learned this knowledge at school, thanks to training provided by the Wspierajmy Zdrowie Foundation.
And they commented:
It was a very positive experience that showed us that what we do outside of work is having an effect.
We warmly congratulate Leon on acting so bravely and remaining calm in such a stressful situation.
