The court handed down a conviction – 8 years of unconditional imprisonment for Dominik H. and a lifetime driving ban.
The ruling is not final.
Let us recall. The tragedy occurred on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at around 3:35 p.m., on road W352 between Zgorzelec and Bogatynia, near the village of Koźmin (Zgorzelec County). – An Audi and a Volkswagen were involved in the incident. Unfortunately, a 3-year-old child died as a result of the injuries sustained – said at the time junior inspector Agnieszka Goguł, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
The perpetrator fled the scene without providing assistance to the injured. On June 11 of the previous year, the prosecutor's office issued a wanted notice for Dominik H. Later, information appeared in Zgorzelec media that H. had been arrested by German police on Friday, July 16.
