The bus will be low-floor and adapted to transport people with disabilities, as well as powered by an electric motor with at least 160 kW of power. The municipality received funding from the Fund in the form of a grant amounting to PLN 1 770 000.00 and a loan of PLN 100 000.00. The planned environmental effect is: a reduction in CO2 emissions of 24.63568 Mg/year, a reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions of 0.02985 Mg/year, and a reduction in particulate matter with a diameter of less than 10 micrometres (PM10) of 0.00012 Mg/year.
Funding for the development of electric bus transport will be provided by NFOŚiGW to Legnica, Bolesławiec and Głogów—towns in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Grants and the loan provided under the Green Public Transport programme will enable the beneficiaries to launch quiet, zero-emission fleets, build charging stations and form professional teams of technical staff.
The agreements governing the transfer of funds were signed on 8 November this year in Legnica, in the presence of, among others, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Ireneusz Zyska, by NFOŚiGW Vice-President of the Management Board Artur Michalski and Legnica Mayor Tadeusz Krzakowski, Bolesławiec Mayor Bolesławiec Piotr Roman and Głogów Mayor Rafael Rokaszewicz.
The buses will be adapted to the needs of all stakeholders, including people with disabilities, seniors and parents with prams.
