The matter was reported by rp.pl:

– We are ahead 4–0 before the Supreme Court – says Mariusz Dzierżawski, one of the best-known pro-life activists and president of the Pro – Prawo do Życia Foundation. He has just been acquitted by the Supreme Court after the prosecutor general Zbigniew Ziobro filed a cassation appeal in his case.

The whole matter concerned displaying images showing the effects of abortion in public spaces. As the nationwide daily reports:

Dzierżawski is already the fourth activist from the foundation he leads to be acquitted by the Supreme Court.

The outlet adds:

The ruling indicates that the court of second instance incorrectly interpreted the provisions of Article 141 of the Petty Offenses Code, under which Dzierżawski had been convicted. The provision states that “anyone who places an indecent announcement, inscription or drawing in a public place, or uses indecent words, is subject to a restriction of liberty, a fine of up to PLN 1,500, or a reprimand.” According to the Supreme Court, graphic images cannot be considered “indecent,” because in common usage the word means “immodest” or “shameless.”

Let us recall that images of this kind also appeared in public spaces in Bolesławiec. (See the cover photo). This is how we reported on the matter in 2020:

(...) A billboard displaying photographs of bloody fetuses was put up on Wesoła Street, near the headquarters of the State Fire Service. Next to them were captions suggesting that they were post-abortion fetuses. It also carried the slogan that “abortion kills 1,000 times more people than coronavirus.”

The poster was graphic. Displaying such images in a public space is an offense that can be reported to the police. Articles 51 § 1 and 141 of the Petty Offenses Code address this.

Within a few hours of the matter being reported, the portal’s editor-in-chief filed an official report with the police. Today (April 2, 2020 – editor’s note), the poster was almost completely torn down, although fragments remained.
