Lower Silesian KAS combats illegal gambling

Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław conducted inspections at premises across Lower Silesia. The searched locations were in the following counties: Oleśnica, Legnica, Bolesławiec, as well as in Legnica and Głogów. During some of the inspections, officers from the Lower Silesian KAS intervened with the support of officers from the Police Headquarters in Legnica and Głogów.

Illegal gaming machines and cash

At the inspected locations, officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław discovered 53 illegal gaming machines and cash amounting to PLN 95,772.

KAS: – The gaming machines and money were seized as evidence in the case.

Organizing illegal gambling is punishable by a fine, imprisonment of up to 3 years, or both penalties. If this offense is made a permanent source of income, the court may impose a sentence of up to 4 years and 6 months in prison.

Both the organizer of illegal games and the owner of the premises where illegal gambling is conducted face a fine of PLN 100,000 for each illegal gaming machine.
