– The government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is focusing on the development of zero-emission public transport. The agreements signed provide tangible support for Polish cities—this time Legnica, Głogów and Bolesławiec—and contribute to improving the quality of life of their residents, who will gain not only modern means of transport and greater travel comfort, but also cleaner air and reduced noise emissions – emphasized Ireneusz Zyska, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment.

As he noted, the Ministry of Climate and Environment is introducing solutions that will ensure favorable conditions for the development in cities of public transport powered by alternative fuels, including electricity and hydrogen.

– When implementing public transport projects, action at the local level is very important; infrastructure, the development of public transport and methods of energy storage are needed. These actions serve to improve the quality of life of our citizens, while local governments are a party and partner in this process – says Artur Michalski, Vice-President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. – We believe that, thanks to support from the National Fund, activities related to electromobility can be directed directly toward society, making people's lives more comfortable. The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has excellent institutional preparation in this area.

How much of the PLN 20 million will go to Bolesławiec?

National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management:

As part of the project “Zero-Emission Public Transport in the Bolesławiec Municipality,” Bolesławiec plans to purchase one bus powered by electricity for public transport. The bus will have a low floor and be adapted to carry people with disabilities, as well as being powered by an electric motor with a capacity of at least 160 kW.

It adds:

The municipality received Fund financing in the form of a grant amounting to: PLN 1,770,000.00 and a loan of: PLN 100,000.00. The planned environmental effect is: a reduction in CO2 emissions of 24.63568 Mg/year, a reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions of 0.02985 Mg/year, and a reduction in particulate matter emissions with a diameter of less than 10 micrometers (PM10) of 0.00012 Mg/year.

It adds:

It is worth emphasizing that all the investments have an extremely important environmental and social dimension. Through programs such as “Green Public Transport,” the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management actively supports local government units in implementing electromobility policy. The Fund's offer, aimed at supporting entities in obtaining funds for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, is addressed to a broad group of beneficiaries: individuals, entrepreneurs, local government units, associations and farmers.
